Event recap

Vancouver AI Meetup #30 landed under the dome of the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre on June 24 — a fitting room for a milestone night. Everyone who walked in got an "Ethos Lab — Mission Crew" badge, and the space-mission theme carried right through the evening, from golden-hour mingling on the plaza to a packed planetarium for the talks.

The lineup leaned into the night's big questions about building AI responsibly. Anthonia Ogundele of Ethos Lab and Mayumi Rollins of Tiny Ghost Studios took the stage against a cosmic backdrop, and the Honourable Rick Glumac, Minister of State for AI, addressed the community directly. Between talks the room brought its own energy — a sea of raised hands, a standing-room performance, and the kind of hallway conversations that are half the reason people come.
