The AI Upgrade for Creative Professionals
Rebuild your creative workflow with AI — without losing your craft.
A six-week, cohort-based intensive for creative professionals who want to reinvent how they work — not in theory, but in practice. The next cohort is BC + AI-led and takes everything you’ve learned in your craft, then helps you wrap a practical AI layer around it. Eight cohorts and 200+ creative pros have already moved through the program, including alumni from Disney, Paramount Pictures, and National Geographic.
•Eight six-week cohorts run across the AI Upgrade lineage.
•200+ creative professionals trained across film, design, writing, marketing, and production.
•Next cohort is BC + AI-led for working creatives who need a workflow rebuild, not a tool demo.
From the cohorts
The strongest proof is what alumni built and kept using.
Past learners keep pointing to the same pattern: practical projects, direct coaching, peer learning, and a stronger sense of how to use AI without flattening their own work.
Capstone-level creation, not passive training
Past AI Upgrade marketing describes the course around hands-on projects, multimodal experimentation, peer groups, and capstone-level creations. The page now sells that lived format instead of a generic tool survey.
One-on-one access is part of the value
Approved survey feedback repeatedly points to direct access to Peter and Kris, practical troubleshooting, and getting unstuck on a personal project as the thing that made the course land.
Creative DNA stays in the center
The Future Proof Creatives and AI Upgrade material keeps returning to the same promise: learn the tools, but keep judgment, taste, authorship, and the learner’s own body of work as the steering layer.
I should have joined this course long ago! It has given me an overview of what is possible, what is coming and what it means to us all. Most importantly, it galvanized me to catch up!
Simon Haworth
Director, Intelligent OMICS · AI Upgrade for Creative Pros alum
This was enlightening and educational. Just what I needed to get ramped up to understanding and working with AI. Cool cohort experience! It was amazing to see how other people were using AI in their work, ways that I wouldn't even think about.
Vicki Morawietz
Designer · AI Upgrade for Creative Pros alum
This course went beyond the hype and enabled me to find practical ways to utilize AI tools to streamline and enhance my workflows and outputs in ways that did not encroach on the authenticity of my work.
Brittney Smaila
Creative professional · AI Upgrade for Creative Pros alum
I was familiar with the tools covered in this course, but I had never fully grasped how to leverage them effectively. By the end of the course, I felt much more confident incorporating AI into my daily life.

Marketers & founders
Shipping faster and smarter with an AI layer on top of the craft they already have.
- Rebuild your day-to-day workflow around an AI stack that fits how you actually create.
- Develop the hard skills — prompting, workflow automation, compositing, model training — and the taste to use them well.
- Train a model on your own creative DNA and make it part of your process.
- Join a BC + AI peer group of creative professionals doing the same reinvention across BC and beyond.
Curriculum
What you’ll work through
Six weeks of hands-on, cohort-based work blending hard skills, soft skills, and your own domain expertise. You bring your craft; the course helps you wrap an AI layer around it.
The AI creative stack
01Get fluent across the tools that matter: image, voice, video, research, and code — Midjourney, ElevenLabs, NotebookLM, Claude, Figma Make, ChatGPT, Notion, and more, in a workflow that fits your craft.
Hard skills
02Prompting, workflow automation, API integration, compositing, and training models — the technical muscle that turns AI from a toy into production capacity.
Soft skills
03Critical thinking, discernment, and taste. The part the tools can’t do for you — and the part that keeps your work yours.
Your creative DNA
04Train a model on your own body of work, build repeatable workflows, and leave with a process you can keep evolving long after the cohort ends.
Capstone
You leave with a rebuilt workflow, a personal AI toolkit, and — for many graduates — work and tools that didn’t exist before: from AI-assisted VFX pipelines to live generative visuals.

Who’s teaching
Practitioners, not lecturers
Peter Bittner
Lead Instructor, AI Upgrade
Lead instructor for the AI Upgrade. Has run eight six-week cohorts for creative professionals, training filmmakers, designers, and writers — including people from Disney, Paramount, and National Geographic — to rebuild their workflows with AI.
Kris Krüg
Co-host, BC + AI
Executive Director of BC + AI and a National Geographic photographer who trained a model on 2,000 of his own street portraits to understand his creative DNA. Brings the community and the “embrace the contradiction” perspective to the cohort.
Different from Animation Accelerator
This is the workflow rebuild, not the short-film sprint.
Animation Accelerator
A focused production intensive. You use the Tiny Ghost pipeline to direct one animated short and package it for portfolio or screening.
AI Upgrade
A broader six-week rebuild. You redesign how you research, ideate, write, design, produce, and deliver work with AI in the loop.
