AI Film Club: 04/09

April 10, 202620 photosPhoto: Michelle Diamond

April's AI Film Club brought the community back to Multimodal Media Lab for filmmaker conversation, tool demos, and prompt experiments — the kind of night where a hallway chat turns into shared creative practice.

Mark Achbar, director of The Corporation, reflected on where AI is arriving in the production workflow. Kevin Friel argued that context — not any single tool — is becoming the new creative form, and Neo Wang demoed Wemio alongside a look at AI sound design inside DaVinci Resolve. The night closed with the Appetite prompt challenge and community announcements on project jams and volunteer calls.

Photos by Michelle Diamond capture the full arc: arrivals and courtyard portraits, people reconnecting before the show, presenters at the front of the room, and projected work.

More from this event

April's AI Film Club brought the community back to Multimodal Media Lab for a practical evening of filmmaker conversation, tool demos, prompt experiments, and hallway-level shop talk about where AI is already changing production.

The program moved from Mark Achbar's filmmaker perspective into Kevin Friel's argument that context is becoming a new creative form, then into Neo Wang's Wemio demo, AI sound design workflows inside DaVinci Resolve, the Appetite prompt challenge, and community announcements.

Michelle Diamond's gallery captures the full arc of the night: arrivals and courtyard portraits, people reconnecting before the show, presenters at the front of the room, audience reactions, projected work, and the small conversations that turn a tool demo into shared creative practice.
