Connect with Scott ThurlowI study how engineering organizations scale human oversight of AI-generated code. As AI writes more production code, peer review can't keep pace. My research at Purdue University (Doctor of Technology expected 2028) examines how leading organizations close that gap through the lenses of lean/Toyota production and statistical quality control. I led the MSN Product Management team in Vancouver from 2014 to 2017. Most recently, I was the Principal Product Manager for Microsoft's M365 Copilot agentic platform, where I led the integration of AI coding agents into the inner-loop workflow and built BizChat's resilience framework. Across 25+ years shipping large-scale software at Microsoft and Expedia, I've earned 10 patents and built production ML systems. Open to conversations with BC engineering leaders, founders, and researchers on AI-assisted development and code governance.
