Martin Lopatka is a technology leader, AI consultant, and applied researcher working at the intersection of ML, AI ethics, and technology policy, with a focus on moving responsible AI from principle to practice in complex organizations. At EPAM, he specializes in turning ambiguous, high-stakes AI problems into structured, auditable systems that deliver measurable value while meeting governance requirements at scale. Martin's technical background spans machine learning, applied statistics, and probabilistic reasoning, with in a Ph.D. in forensic statistics and an M.Sc. in AI complimented by over a decade of industry expertise. His recent work includes aligning organizational risk postures with regulatory expectations via governance program operationalization, red teaming, and risk assessments. Martin maintains an active role in the Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PET) community, the Mozilla Alumni Network, and the UBC Cognitive Systems Alumni Network and mentoring team.
