The room

Not a Discord and a logo wall.

Directors, editors, VFX artists, animators, writers, ML engineers, creative technologists, studio people, festival programmers, film students, and career changers all show up. Some are AI-curious. Some are already deep in the workflows. Everyone gets to see what holds up on screen.

Work that once needed a studio-scale budget can now be prototyped for hundreds of dollars. The hard part has moved. Taste, direction, continuity, rights, and judgement matter more, not less. Film Club is where people learn that in public.

The wider runway

Film Club leads into Futureproof Festival.

October 28 to 30, 2026 at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. The three-day program includes the 2nd Annual BC + AI Film Festival and its closing party. A Film Club relationship gives us a practical place to start before we talk about the larger festival.
