← Fellowship brief

Show us the weird, useful thing only you can see.

Pitch us the idea that keeps tugging at you. Tell us what you want to make, why this collection needs it, and how you will get to a public, open-source result in six weeks.

Applications close August 21. Review is planned for August 22–30, with selection of one focused, buildable $5,000 fellowship project targeted for August 31.

Section 1 of 4About you
Section 2 of 4The project

What do you want to build or create?

Who could use, question, or learn from this work?

Describe the core method, tools, and a scope you can finish.

Why does this idea need the Canadian civics and open-government collection?

Show us how you will get from curiosity to something real during the six-week build window. Share the major phases or weekly milestones, including where you expect to learn or change course. We care about momentum and judgment, not timesheets.

What working artifact will exist at the end of the fellowship?

Name what you will point to as evidence the work succeeded: a working demo, a finding aid covering a named set of gaps, or a specific number of items processed.
