March’s AI Film Club brought filmmakers, technologists, and curious creative people back into the room at Multimodal Media Lab for screenings, experiments, and frank conversation about what AI is changing in production culture.
The night moved between community announcements, prompt challenges, and practical talks from creators working through the messy middle: burnout, authorship, representation, sound, tools, and the punk-rock instinct to make work before the rules are settled.
This gallery is a record of the room itself: people watching, presenting, asking questions, comparing notes, and turning a fast-moving tool landscape into a shared creative practice.

Monthly screenings, technical deep-dives, and creative experiments with AI tools transforming film and media production.
Every month there’s a new video model that makes last month’s look like a flip phone. Sora. Veo. Kling. Whatever dropped this week that we haven’t heard of yet.
Meanwhile, most filmmakers are either ignoring it, panicking about it, or quietly experimenting alone in their apartments wondering if they’re the only ones.
You’re not the only one.
AI Film Club is where we actually watch this stuff, talk about it, and figure out what’s real versus what’s just a viral demo that falls apart the moment you try to use it for actual work.
We combine film screenings with technical deep-dives, creative experiments, and real talk about how AI is changing production, post, distribution, and storytelling itself.
This is about filmmakers taking control of the tools, understanding what’s possible, and deciding how we want to use them.
Directors. Editors. VFX artists. Sound designers. Documentarians. People who’ve been in the industry for decades. People who just got their first camera. The common thread: curiosity about what’s possible and zero patience for hype.
The deal:
We’re not here to sell you on AI. We’re not here to tell you it’s going to replace you. We’re here because something genuinely new is happening in how films get made, and figuring it out alone is a waste of time.
Human creativity first. Always. AI is a tool—a weird, powerful, rapidly evolving tool that we’re all learning to use in real-time.
