Full recording of Vancouver AI Community Meetup March 2026.
The event opens with a welcome from by Anthony Joseph of the Squamish Nation, who shares traditional songs, language, and reflections on community, time, and family.

Kris then delivers the keynote, framing today’s AI conversation as trapped between two extremes: uncritical hype and total rejection. He argues for a more grounded middle path, one that embraces AI’s creative and practical potential while remaining honest about its harms, including bias, theft of creative labor, environmental cost, data sovereignty, and the broader social consequences of rapid adoption.

The meetup also features a live demo from Lawrence, who showcases an open-source robot powered by OpenClaw. Using Telegram as the interface, he demonstrates how natural-language commands can control mapping, sensors, and physical robot behavior. Later, Mayumi presents highlights from the community’s AI Film Club, sharing standout creative submissions from recent prompt challenges and inviting attendees to join the next one.
