Vancouver AI returns under the dome for another monthly room to compare notes, demo work, test ideas, ask better questions, and meet people who care where AI goes next.

The Room
This meetup is for people paying attention: artists, researchers, builders, students, founders, skeptics, teachers, organizers, public-sector folks, and the AI-curious. Come deep in the field or just getting started.
We are not here to clap for every new model or pretend the machine is magic. We are here to learn in public, share what is real, and build relationships with people who can make the work better.

Why This One Matters
The July frame is simple: multi-modal, multi-cultural, radically local, and future-facing. That means demos and technical questions can sit beside culture, policy, creative practice, protocol, jobs, education, and community infrastructure.
Some nights are technical. Some nights are philosophical. Some get messy in the best way. The through-line is curiosity, generosity, and the belief that Vancouver has a role to play in shaping AI with creativity, courage, and conscience.

Hosted By BC + AI
Kris Krug and the BC + AI Ecosystem Association crew host the Vancouver AI meetup as part of the grassroots work to connect people building, questioning, teaching, organizing, and experimenting with AI across British Columbia.
The meetup is one node in a larger local network: Vancouver AI, the Vancouver AI Luma calendar, BC + AI membership, community chapters, working groups, and the practical projects that grow out of these rooms.

Place, Protocol, And Local Context
The current July graphic set includes a Gabriel George Sr. / Tsleil-Waututh Nation card. Lineup and final program details are still being confirmed, so we are keeping the written program careful while making room for place, protocol, and local context to matter in the night.
That local grounding is part of the point. AI is not an abstract cloud story. It lands in communities, institutions, classrooms, studios, public services, and relationships.

Plug Into The Bigger Organism
BC + AI is the province-wide layer: a community-driven nonprofit association building public-interest infrastructure for AI in British Columbia. Not a corporate lobby. Not a think tank. A commons where meetups turn into working groups, prototypes turn into shared tools, and community values turn into governance.
Join us on July 29, and if you want to help beyond one night, become a member, volunteer, bring a demo, sponsor a gathering, or help shape a future meetup.
