Frank Christiaens is a global executive, entrepreneur, and early-stage technology investor with operating experience across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Canada. He holds an electronics engineering degree from KU Leuven and conducted his 1989 thesis research at the Neural Networks Laboratory of Imperial College London, focusing on early applications of artificial intelligence to image recognition at a time when Sun Microsystems SPARC workstations required hours to perform such computations.

Frank began his international career with Alcatel (later Lucent, now part of Nokia), contributing to early broadband and internet infrastructure initiatives in Asia. He went on to co-found technology companies in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Belgium, the United States, and Canada. After relocating to Canada, he co-founded CrossPacific Capital Partners, through which he has backed and helped scale companies across AI, telecom, fintech, cleantech, EV, and digital-infrastructure sectors.

Frank actively invests in, advises, mentors, and helps scale a number of his portfolio companies, working hands-on with founders and leadership teams. He brings deep cross-border operating experience, early AI development expertise, and board-level governance perspective across three continents to British Columbia’s innovation ecosystem.
