Catherine Warren is the founder and president of FanTrust, a pioneer in fan-building and digital innovation celebrating 25 years. An international media-tech executive, innovation leader, and AI strategist, she co-founded Canada’s first ethical AI accelerator fund and co-developed a $100M fair-use marketplace for AI training rights. Catherine advises global media companies, governments, and venture partners on AI innovation, monetization, and digital governance. Her leadership has resulted in $8B+ in high-impact investment to Canada since 2018, and includes overseeing the Vancouver Film Commission, CEO of Vancouver Economic Commission, CEO of Edmonton Unlimited, and CEO of Canada’s Centre for Digital Media. Early in her career, Catherine and partners co-founded a broadcast software company they took public on the Nasdaq and grew to a $300M market cap. Catherine serves as Canada’s representative on the International Emmy Nominating Committee and on the UN flagship program World Summit Awards for digital innovation. A veteran Board Director and Governance Chair, Catherine contributes expertise to publicly-traded companies focussed on loyalty/banking and influencer marketing/tech. She is the incoming Board Chair of Young Citizens of the World, the largest global youth-icon network, where kids interview their heroes. Catherine has an undergrad degree in physics with a focus on climate change from Reed College in Portland, Oregon; a Master’s from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York, with a focus on digital media innovation at MIT's Media Lab; and contributes as an adjunct faculty fellow at the University of Canterbury and Koawa Studios in New Zealand.
