Larry Bouthillier is the Executive Director of Extended Learning at the University of British Columbia, where he leads the university’s central Career, Personal, and Professional (CPP) education unit and supports institution-wide initiatives related to CPP.
Prior to joining UBC, Bouthillier spent 23 years at Harvard University in a progression of IT leadership roles, including Educational Technology Architect and Director of Software Development. He has also held educational leadership roles at Brown University and the New England Institute of Technology.
Under his leadership, UBC Extended Learning delivers an expanding portfolio of UBC Micro-Certificates and Certificates in technology fields, including AI for IT organizations and digital media professionals, cybersecurity, and data science.
Bouthillier also teaches Computer Science at Harvard Extension School, where his courses focus on software development and AI-assisted programming.
