Carla Ritchie works at the intersection of art and innovation. She leads VIVO Media Arts Centre, a long-standing hub for experimental media and digital culture in Vancouver. She brings more than 15 years of experience supporting artists, building partnerships, and developing new models for creative production. Her work focuses on how technology shapes access, equity, and cultural memory. She advances projects that link community needs with emerging tools, including AI, digital infrastructure, and new forms of media creation. She leads initiatives that strengthen artist access to equipment, training, and shared resources. Her recent work includes developing a community-operated GPU lab, expanding archival systems, and building collaborations between artists, technologists, and researchers. She focuses on practical systems that support resilient cultural spaces, affordable creative tools, and long-term digital preservation. She works closely with partners across the arts, academic sectors, and technology fields to move ideas into implementation. She supports governance models that center community benefit, ethical design, and sustainable access. Her leadership approach brings together operations, fundraising, policy, and digital strategy to help organizations adapt to changing creative environments. Carla works to ensure artists have the tools they need to test ideas, expand their practices, and build new relationships with technology.
