What Membership Unlocks

Orientation: A clearer map of what is happening across BC’s AI ecosystem, from meetups and Office Hours to working groups, hackathons, research, policy, and practical training.

People: Access to a community where builders, creatives, researchers, students, founders, public servants, and the AI-curious compare notes without pretending anyone has it all figured out.

Momentum: Members get recurring touchpoints: weekly Office Hours, monthly coworking, member updates, community asks, backchannel invites, and chances to turn half-formed ideas into real collaborations.

Voice: Paid members are not just buying perks. They help shape the association’s priorities, programming, advocacy, and standards for responsible, community-centered AI in British Columbia.

Visibility: Member spotlights, directory presence, badges, and community signal boosts help the right people find each other faster.

Community In Motion

Weekly Office Hours: A low-friction Zoom room for sharing what you are working on, asking for help, trading tools, finding collaborators, and keeping ecosystem momentum out of private DMs.

Member Coworking: Monthly focused working time for members who want accountability without awkwardness. Bring the proposal, project, inbox, creative thing, or hard thing that needs traction.

Monthly Vancouver AI: The flagship gathering keeps bringing together the full spectrum: builders, artists, researchers, students, public servants, founders, and people still finding their footing.

Special Interest Groups: Community nodes around education, life sciences, creative AI, ethical futures, Mind/AI/consciousness, regional groups, and whatever members have enough energy to steward next.

Partner and sponsor infrastructure: The Space Centre, research labs, creative communities, Internet Archive Canada, Rival, Segev, Intellomx, TheUpgrade.ai, and others are helping turn a meetup into durable public-interest infrastructure.

Why Join Now

AI is moving faster than any one person can track. Membership gives you a place to stay oriented, ask better questions, learn in public, and build with people who care about more than hype.

BC needs a community voice. Government, universities, companies, artists, educators, healthcare people, civic builders, and independent technologists are all trying to understand what comes next. The association gives that messy, useful ecosystem somewhere to gather and speak from.

This only works if members shape it. Join if you want the future of AI in BC to be built in rooms where human creativity, Indigenous leadership, public-interest infrastructure, and practical experimentation are all taken seriously.

Seat Rules

Seat ownership: If you pay personally, the seat travels with you. If a company pays, the seat belongs to the company and can be reassigned.

Directory wall: Only paid seat-holders appear in the public member directory.

Seat swaps: Company admins can reassign seats as teams change.

Voting: Every paid seat gets one vote on association matters, up to 30 votes per organization.

Registration: The buttons above continue into the existing secure registration flow. This page refresh does not change payment processing, forms, Stripe, login, or member-profile behavior.
